Young Adult Commissioners

The General Assembly will be taking place from 3rd – 7th October in Christchurch. Northern Presbytery is able to send 6 young adult commissioners to this assembly who need to be between the ages of 18 – 30. See below for the five Young Adult Commissioner profiles!

MEVIA FALETOESE: PIPC NEWTON – AGE 22

My name is Mevia, I’m 22 and currently serving as a youth leader at PIPC Newton. I come from a big Samoan family and I’m in my final study at UoA. This will be my first General Assembly and I am so honoured to be one of the GAYAC’s on behalf of Northern Presbytery. Can’t wait to see what God has in store for me this year.

JORDAN GRIMMER: SOMERVELL PRESBTERIAN CHURCH – AGE 25

I grew up in Tauranga and became involved in the Pressy church when I started attending youth group as a teenager. I am a part of Somervell Presbyterian Church and help lead the youth group there. I am also involved with preaching and other jobs around the church. I look forward to General Assembly! It will be an unparalleled opportunity to learn about the wider workings of the denomination, and to serve the church through offering a youth perspective. I look forward to making connections with other people there too, especially other young adult commissioners.

My name is Denesse, 18 years old from Glenfield Presbyterian Church. I am originally from the Philippines but I left to live in Singapore when I was young and recently moved to New Zealand four years ago.
